About Us

The Alabama Department of Finance is more than just dollars and cents. With 13 divisions and more than 350 employees, Finance claims a myriad of responsibilities. From formulating the Governor's annual budgets to maintaining the grounds of the capitol complex in downtown Montgomery, the Alabama Department of Finance leaves its mark on state government.

The state finance director, appointed by the Governor, leads the Department. He is the chief financial officer of the state and the Governor's advisor in all financial matters. He is responsible for the oversight of each of the Department's divisions, and is charged with protecting the financial interests of Alabama.

This website serves as a portal to our director's office and our divisions. We encourage you to visit each of their websites to learn more about the responsibilities of the Department of Finance, as well as the services we provide.
