MONTGOMERY- State Finance Director Jim Main has named Mike Hudson the Acting State Comptroller. Hudson was appointed to the post formerly held by Bob Childree, who retired yesterday after more than 35 years of state service, 22 of which were spent as State Comptroller.
Hudson has worked in the Alabama Comptroller’s Office for the past 23 years. Prior to being appointed Acting Comptroller, he served as Financial Reporting Director. He earned bachelors degrees from Auburn University in both accounting and computer science. An Auburn native, he and his wife currently reside in Wetumpka.
Hudson began his duties as Acting State Comptroller today, and will continue serving in this position until a permanent comptroller is selected.
